  • Segment 1:

FSB and GRU Fingerprints on DNC Hack

We begin with reports of unease inside the intelligence community about giving Donald Trump intelligence briefings set to begin next week. Patrick Tucker, the technology editor for Defense One and author of “The Naked Future: What Happens in a World That Anticipates Your Every Move?”, joins us to discuss his latest article “How Putin Weaponized Wikileaks to Influence the Election of an American President”. We look into the considerable evidence that the hack of the DNC has Russian fingerprints belonging to the successor to the KGB, the FSB as well as the GRU, Russian Military Intelligence, and the coincidence that the contents from the hack have just been released by Wikileaks on the eve of the Democratic convention reviving divisions between Sanders and Clinton supporters the convention was planning to heal in the name of party unity.

  • Segment 2:

Unease Among Intelligence Officials About Briefing Trump

Then we try to assess why Russian President Putin is trying to influence the November election by throwing his support to Trump who may well lose the election leaving Putin with the grim possibility he will be dealing with Hillary Clinton, who he clearly loathes, while Clinton will have every reason to not want to deal with Putin. Karen Dawisha, a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies at Miami University, Ohio and author of “Putin’s Kleptocracy: Who Owns Russia?”, joins us to discuss the double standard that if the Democrats were cozying up to Putin and talking about abandoning NATO, the Republicans would be up in arms.

  • Segment 3:

Vocal Sanders' Supporters Cast Doubt on Democratic Party Unity

Then finally we go to the floor of the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia and get an update on the first day’s activities from Lauren Windsor, the creative director of American Family Voices and the executive producer of The Undercurrent, a grassroots political news program. We discuss the confusion surrounding the exit of the Chair of the DNC and how well the healing process to unite the party is going on inside the hall and outside on the streets of Philadelphia where there have been numerous pro-Sanders demonstrations.
